October/November 2019 Newsletter

Fall has arrived, but it feels more like winter this morning with breaking low temperatures all across the country. I hope everyone is warm and well.

We have a very busy schedule through out the remainder of the year. Things are going to get hectic with the Holidays fast approaching.

Last year our group worked very hard on our Christmas float for the Albany Christmas Parade, only to be rained out due to strong storms. The date was rescheduled, but we were not able to make the date at that point. We are planning on participating in the Parade this year. We participated in 2017 and had a great time! The parade takes place on Saturday, December 7th. We will be gathering at my home on Sunday, December 1st to assemble the float. We will have chili and soup for all, but only after the work is done of course (LOL!!). Please plan on joining us and taking part in the fun event. Thank you to Bill Livingston and Richard Morgan for making sure that we have a truck and trailer to use.

We will be adding a few special events during December. On Tuesday, December 3rd, we have been invited to ASU on Gillionville to provide pet therapy to students taking their finals. We will begin at 10:00 am and finish up by 1:00 pm. We have provided pet therapy for the students in the past and it is a very enjoyable event that the students really appreciate. Please plan on joining us for this fun day.

The Phoebe Gift shop has asked our participation on Thursday, December 12th from 11:00-1:00. They have purchased several pet items and would like our attendance in order to promote these items while providing pet therapy to all visiting the gift shop on that day. The $1,000.00 donation we received from Phoebe for our bookmarks came from the gift shop and I hope we will be able to oblige the gift shop with their request for our participation.

Karen and Don Martin have graciously volunteered to host our groups Christmas party on Saturday, December 14th. Please save the date and more details will follow in an email soon.

We will have NO visits on our calendar beginning on Christmas Eve through through the 2nd of January, 2020. I hope you will enjoy your holiday with family and friends. We will begin our New Years Calendar on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 with a visit to Willson Hospice.

I will be holding a Workshop this coming Sunday, November 17th. I believe that it will be a small group and therefore I am planning on holding it my home. Our next evaluations will be held on Sunday, December 15th. Please check you expiration date on your Pet Partner badge and be sure to register to renew if you expire at the end of December of 2019.

Richard Morgan has fully recovered from his recent surgery and is back visiting with Brady and we are happy to have him back participating.
